A Note From Nick Jones

Hi Everyone,

I don’t want to dwell on this matter (after all this is a joyous occasion) but I’m afraid we shall be calling TIME very soon for the final time, and this will be the final beer festival at our current home.

The place is steeped in tradition and has been occupying this land for almost a century. It was provided for the employees of steel giants at the time, Stewarts & Lloyds.

In the sixties it was nationalised and became British Steel. With the steel works demise at the end of the eighties, a merry band of men took over and have run it as a private sports & social club ever since. But within the space of a few months it will become a housing estate (Fantastic!!!).

Enough said, let’s send off the old place in style. People to thank this year are Gary Mills for help building our temporary bar, Titanic Brewery in particular Ian Hughes and Keith Lawton for supplying beer and equipment. Tracey Jones for keeping us well fed and as always the bar staff without whom we could not function.

There will be food available at all sessions but we will only have cobs on the Thursday session. See kitchen notice board for menu list. Thursday will be a quiet session but there will be entertainment on both Friday & Saturday evenings.

We WILL be back next year in our new home. Cheers!

Nick.
