THE 2012 FESTIVAL DRINKS LIST

1. Beowulf, Brownhills, Staffs - Dark Raven 4.7% 

Dark with apple and bonfire in the aroma. Sweet and smooth with a sudden bitter finish.

 

2. Bollington, Bollington, Cheshire - Dinner Ale 4.3%

Deep copper coloured beer with fresh slightly fruity nose with dry, hoppy finish.

 

3. Broughs, Wolverhampton - Superior 5.8%

 Dark coloured Old Ale type beer that’s quite sweet.

 

4. Buxton, Buxton, Derbyshire - Wild Boar 5.7%

Pale straw coloured with fluffy white head. It as aroma of spicy limes and mango and a dry bitter finish.

 

5. Church End, Nuneaton, Warks - Out for a Duck 4.7%

Specially brewed for this festival (see front cover) Malty & Tangy amber ale.

 

6. Church End, Nunneaton, Warks - Lemon & Lime 5.0%

Pale and hoppy bitter infused with lemon and lime flavours.

 

7. Coach House, Warrington, Cheshire - Blueberry Ale 5.0%

Golden full bodied ale with blueberry flavouring. SIBA National Speciality Beer Winner 2011.

 

8. Coach House, Warrington, Cheshire - Banoffee 4.2%

Banana and toffee flavoured best bitter.

 

9. Coastal, Redruth, Cornwall - Hop Monster 3.7%

Thirst quenching session bitter, golden with a citrus fruit on the palate.

 

10. Corvedale, Craven Arms, Shropshire - Norman’s Pride 4.3%

Golden amber beer with refreshing, slightly hoppy taste and a bitter finish.

 

11. Dancing Duck, Derby - Gold 4.7%

Modern IPA with powerful hoppy bitterness and aroma balanced with strong malt notes.              

 

12. Dark Star, Horsham, West Sussex - Smoked Porter 5.4%

A smooth dark beer with a mixture of soft hop varieties and a hint of smoked malt

 

13. Downton, Downton, Wiltshire - Chimera IPA 6.8%

A traditional India Pale Ale, brewed with a hugely increased hop rate for a strong, floral aroma, and a powerful, bitter taste.

 

14. Elland, Elland, W.Yorks - Goldrush 4.6%

Pale golden with floral, herby and spicy aroma with a citrus hop and balanced malt flavour. A long hoppy aftertaste.

 

15. Frodsham, Frodsham, Cheshire - Buzzin’ 4.3%

Golden fruity bitter dominated by a honey sweetness. Good hop flavours in initial taste and long dry finish.

 

16. Holden’s, Dudley, W.Mids - Major Tom 4.5%

Blonde beer with a sweet fruity dominance and a moreish full malty body.

 

17. Hopping Mad, Olney, Bucks - Fruitcase 4.5%

A well balanced golden ale with a fruity hoppiness.

 

18. Kinver, Kinver, Staffs - Over the Edge 7.6%  

A light coloured winter warmer.

 

19. Milestone, Newark, Notts - Fletchers Ale 5.2%

Crisp, clean and refreshing golden ale with citrus flavours from the New Zealand hop,

 

20. Oakham, Peterborough, Cambs - Attila 7.5%

Fruit notes and elder flower on aroma. Taste of ripe red berries and citrus fruit, with a long, bitter, fruity finish .

 

21. Oakleaf, Gosport, Hampshire - I can’t believe it’s not Bitter 4.9%

A CAMRA Beer of the Year 2011 winner, Clean and crisp with a fruity aftertaste.                                        

 

22. Peakstone Rock, Alton, Staffs - Black Hole 4.8%

A dark bitter, brewed with chocolate malt giving it plenty of body and flavour without being heavy.

 

23. Plain Ales, Sutton Veny, Wiltshire - Innocence 4.0%

A refreshing golden ale with amazing complexity.

 

24. Prospect, Wigan, Lancs - Blinding Light 4.2%

A pale refreshing beer with citrus and spicy notes.                                                 

 

25. Robinson’s, Stockport, Cheshire - Old Tom 8.5%  

This year’s strongest beer, Superior dark, rich and warming strong ale with a cherry brandy like colour and character.                                                                           

 

26. Rudgate, Tockwith, York - Grain of Truth 4.0%

A straw coloured bitter with slight sense of spice on the taste and nose.

 

27. St Peter’s, South Elmham, Suffolk - Golden Ale 4.7%

English Pale malts coupled with Challenger and Goldings hops gives bitterness and aroma. Distinctive pale golden ale.

 

28. Titanic, Burslem, Stoke - 8th Wonder 4.5%

Celebrating it’s first anniversary, our house beer is straw coloured, hoppy with a bitter finish.

 

29. Titanic, Burslem, Stoke - Iron Curtain 6.0%

An Imperial Russian Stout.

 

30. Wapping, Wapping, Liverpool - Baltic Gold 3.9%

Hoppy Golden Ale with plenty citrus hop flavour.

 

31. Weetwood, Tarporley, Cheshire - Oasthouse Gold 5.0%

Straw colours, crisp, full bodied and fruity golden ale with a good dry finish

 

32. Whim Brewery, Hartington, Buxton - Hartington IPA4.5%

Pale coloured, smooth on the palate, Well rounded slightly sweet finish

 

Ciders & Perrys

 

33. Gwynt y Ddraig, Pontypridd - Two Trees Perry 4.5%

A pale, fruity perry with an aroma of fruit and a hint of honey on the palate.

 

34. Moles, Melksham, Wilts - Black Rat 6.0%

A fresh apple aroma, a smooth taste, a crisp clean finish with a bright and lightly sparkling appearance.

 

35. Tardebigge, Bromsgrove, Worcs - Tardebigge Cider 6.1%

Made with local Worcestershire apples. A clear, pale refined Cider.

 

 

Please note that 17 beers will be available at any one time and we will endeavour to serve all the beers throughout the festival, however due to demand this may not be possible. As this program was printed in advance, some of the beers may have a late change. Please consult the blackboards at both bars for current listings.
